Best Wedding Venues in the Italian Riviera
A guide based on real experience
As a wedding photographer based in the Italian Riviera, I often find myself working in different venues across Liguria.
Couples frequently ask me for advice on where to get married, especially if they’re planning a destination wedding and don’t know the area well.
These are some of the venues I personally like the most — not just for how they look, but for how a wedding day actually flows in each of them.
Villa Nobel - Sanremo
Villa Nobel is one of the most iconic wedding venues in Sanremo.
Surrounded by a large garden and overlooking the sea, it offers a perfect balance between elegance and openness.
Ceremonies often take place outside, with soft light and a relaxed atmosphere.
It works especially well for couples looking for a natural, non-formal wedding.
Villa Ormond – Sanremo
Villa Ormond is known for its huge botanical park and exotic plants.
It’s a great choice if you want a wedding surrounded by greenery, with a more open and spacious feeling.
The variety of spots inside the park allows for different moments during the day without moving too much.
Villa Casa Rossa – Imperia
Located in Imperia, Villa Casa Rossa offers one of the best sea views in the area.
The terrace is often used for ceremonies and aperitifs, with the coastline in the background.
Light here can be very strong during the day and incredibly soft towards sunset.
Locanda del Cavaliere – San Bartolomeo al Mare
Locanda del Cavaliere has a different feeling compared to seaside villas.
It’s more intimate, surrounded by nature, and works very well for relaxed weddings with a strong focus on the atmosphere of the reception.
Evening light and warm tones make this venue particularly interesting for storytelling.
La Spagnuola – Marchesi Gavotti (Savona area)
La Spagnuola is a historic residence in the Savona area, surrounded by greenery and with a very distinctive character.
It’s a venue that works well for elegant weddings with a more private and refined atmosphere, while still keeping a strong connection with nature.
Fortezza di Finale Ligure
The Fortezza of Finale Ligure is one of the most unique venues in this part of Liguria.
With its elevated position and open views, it offers a very different setting compared to classic villas.
It’s particularly interesting for couples looking for something less traditional and more scenic.
Villa Lagorio – Celle Ligure
Villa Lagorio is located in Celle Ligure and combines sea views with a more intimate garden setting.
It’s a good balance between elegance and simplicity, and works well for both ceremonies and receptions in the same place.
Villa Faraggiana – Albissola Marina
Villa Faraggiana is one of the most elegant historic villas in the Savona area.
Even though I haven’t had the chance to photograph a wedding here yet, it’s definitely one of the most beautiful locations in Liguria, with impressive gardens and a very refined atmosphere.
